Joe’s route toward professional blacksmithing was via his passion for Bushcraft and the natural world. Always interested in craft, his experiments with knife making led to him working first with a master blacksmith in conservation and restoration and then making forged kitchenware for a company in Somerset.
Joe specialises in bladesmithing and knife making; taking a lot of influence from Scandinavia, he forms the blades, handles and sheaths by hand. His work is endorsed by a Michelin starred chef and has been featured on the Great British Menu. When not at the forge, Joe has taken part in UK and Scandinavian based expeditions and has qualifications in bushcraft leadership. In all his pursuits, Joe’s desire for knowledge has opened up a door leading to a lifetime of learning both at the forge and in the wild.
